WCF-Xtensions is a bundle that consists of three products, WCF-Xtensions, FastInfoset.NET and DotNetGZip.

Both the Professional and the Enterprise editions include all classes of WCF-Xtensions, FastInfoset.NET and DotNetGZip. There is no difference in the functionality offered by the Professional and the Enterprise editions.

Full source code

The Enterprise edition includes the full source code of WCF-Xtensions, FastInfoset.NET and DotNetGZip.

Source code availability helps you debug easier your applications and provides business continuity assurance without the need for an escrow service. It also enables you to embed WCF-Xtensions right into your software; more details are provided in the "Distribution" section that follows.

Royalty-free distribution

Once your software is ready, and depending on whether you have licensed the Professional or the Enterprise edition, you can distribute to your end users the Redistributables or the Embedded Code without paying any per-server or other type of runtime fees.

Redistributables

The Redistributables are assemblies that are included in both the Professional and the Enterprise editions and are specially designated as Redistributables. You can distribute the Redistributables to end users in conjunction with and as an inseparable part of your software. End users cannot further distribute the Redistributables or use them in any software that they create.

Embedded Code

The Embedded Code is created by compiling the source code included in the Enterprise editions in combination with the source code of your software in such a manner that the compiled code of WCF-Xtensions becomes an integral and indistinguishable part of the compiled code of your software. You can distribute the Embedded Code to end users in conjunction with and as an inseparable part of your software. If you wish, you can permit end users of your software to further redistribute the Embedded Code either as part of your software or as part of derivate works of your software that they create. You can even create software components that use the Embedded Code. Using Embedded Code also enables you to hide the use of WCF-Xtensions, avoid dependencies on the Redistributables, reduce loading time and sign all assemblies with your own keys.

Support and maintenance

Both editions include an initial subscription at no extra cost. A subscription provides you with Premium Support and Upgrade Protection while your subscription is active. For the Professional editions the duration of the included initial subscription is six months, for the Enterprise editions it is twelve months.

Premium Support offers you technical support for an unlimited number of issues. Whether you need assistance in using WCF-Xtensions, want to report a problem or would like to request new functionality, Premium Support is there for you.

By improving your understanding of the available technologies, how they affect your design and how to make best use of them, Premium Support can also provide you with valuable assistance in building better systems and help you make more informed decisions.

Upgrade Protection

Upgrade Protection entitles you to freely download the latest version of WCF-Xtensions during the term of your subscription. Free access to minor updates and major upgrades ensures that you can maintain WCF-Xtensions up-to-date and never miss the newest functionality.

Licensing

WCF-Xtensions is licensed on a per-developer basis. All developers that directly or indirectly use WCF-Xtensions or any part of it, including its Redistributables and its Embedded Code, must be licensed to use WCF-Xtensions. A developer is considered to be any individual who participates in the creation, modification, configuration, compilation or linkage of software which includes, uses, links, references, accesses or merges with the Redistributables or the Embedded Code.

Both the Professional and the Enterprise editions are available in the following types of licenses:

• Personal license
  For 1 developer working on up to 2 computers.
• Team 4 license
  For up to 4 developers working on up to 8 computers in total.
• Team 10 license
  For up to 10 developers working on up to 20 computers in total.
• Team 25 license
  For up to 25 developers working on up to 50 computers in total.
• Site 100 license
  For up to 100 developers working on up to 200 computers in total and within a radius of 25 miles or 40 kilometers.
• Site Wide license
  For an unlimited number of developers working on an unlimited number of computers and within a radius of 100 miles or 160 kilometers.

With a Team or Site license, the person that registers its license key is authorized to download WCF-Xtensions and provide copies of it to the licensed developers, and also to submit all Premium Support requests on behalf of the licensed developers.

You can freely mix any number of Personal, Team and Site licenses. Some developers might be licensed under a Personal license, others under a Team license and others under a Site license. However, all developers must be licensed to use the same edition; either all of them the Professional edition or all of them the Enterprise edition.
